What we do

Four things, done
to specification.

A focused set of capabilities, each carried through from raw casting to finished, inspected component, all in one shop and run by the people on the floor.

01 / VMCAMS 540V CNC vertical machining centre on the shop floor

CNC / VMC Machining

CNC vertical machining for precision components: milling, drilling, boring and tapping, held to drawing tolerance and repeated consistently across production batches.

  • Milling
  • Boring
  • Drilling & Tapping
  • Batch Production
02 / TurningConventional centre lathe with parts in crate

Conventional Machining

Turning, facing and threading on conventional lathes. Well suited to large diameters, single pieces and short runs where a manual setup is the more sensible choice.

  • Turning
  • Facing
  • Threading
  • Sleeving
03 / Reverse Eng.Reverse-engineered turbocharger cartridges and compressor wheels awaiting dispatch

Reverse Engineering

Have a worn or obsolete part with no drawing? We measure it, work back to its dimensions and material, and produce a component that fits and performs like the original, including turbo rotating assemblies, sleeves, bushes and housings.

  • Dimensional Measurement
  • Drawing Recreation
  • Sample Approval
  • Repeat Supply
04 / ReconditioningIndustrial heat treatment furnace used in engine component reconditioning

Reconditioning & Refurbishment

Recover high-value components rather than scrap them. Sleeve removal, re-machining, heat treatment and finishing return engine blocks, heads and assemblies to working tolerance, at a fraction of replacement cost.

  • Sleeve Removal
  • Re-machining
  • Heat Treatment
  • Finishing
Materials we machine
  • Cast Iron
  • Alloy Steels
  • Stainless Steel
  • Aluminium

Production volumes where every piece still has to hold its tolerance, and arrive on the date we promised.

Quality & inspection

Every part is
measured, not assumed.

“Inspected” isn't a figure of speech here, it's a step. Components are checked against the drawing at set-up, in process and before dispatch, with the records to back it up.

01

In-process inspection

Dimensions are verified at first-off, during the run and at final stage, so any drift is caught on the floor, not at your goods-inward bay.

02

First-article & PPAP

First-article inspection on new parts, with PPAP documentation available for automotive programmes that require it.

03

Certificate of conformance

Dispatches can be accompanied by a certificate of conformance and a dimensional report, tying each batch back to its drawing and revision.

04

Dimensional traceability

Inspection records are retained against job and batch, so a measured dimension can be traced back to the part that left our floor.

Metrology & gauging

Calibrated instruments used across set-up and final inspection.

  • Outside Micrometers
  • Vernier Calipers
  • Height Gauge
  • Bore Gauge
  • Dial Indicators
  • Bore Dial Gauge
  • Surface Plate
  • Thread & Plug Gauges

“I started this shop in 2013 on a simple principle: a part either holds its tolerance, or it doesn't leave the floor. More than a decade on, that hasn't changed.”

When you place an order with Mass Consultants, you aren't passed between departments. The person who quotes your part is the same one who runs the machines and signs off the inspection, so accountability stays clear and questions get answered quickly.
